Five Kajaks Track & Field Club athletes are set to compete for their respective schools in post season competition.
UBC Thunderbirds Sebastian Yep, Nathan Loewen and Samuel Loewen will head down to Gulf Shores, Alabama for the 2018 NAIA Outdoor Track & Field Championships from May 24-26th. Nathan and Samuel Loewen, both freshmen, will take part as members of the men’s 4 x 400m relay team while sophomore Sebastian Yep makes his return in the men’s hammer throw. The UBC Men’s Track & Field Team returns to Alabama as defending champions taking top spot at the 2017 edition of the NAIA Championship meet.
Heading to the NCAA preliminary rounds, Kajaks throwers Chanell Botsis and Camryn Rogers look to continue their season on route to the NCAA Championship meet. Coming off a silver medal performance in her sophomore year at the 2018 AAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships, Botsis will represent the University of Connecticut Huskies at the East Preliminary meet in Tampa, Florida. School record holder and 2018 PAC-12 bronze medalist Camryn Rogers, a freshman, will head to Sacramento, California with the University of California Golden Bears to take on the West Region. Both meets will take place May 24-26th.
