ATHLETE DEVELOPMENT

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

The Kajaks Track & Field Club Competition Development Program is designed for athletes ages 14 years and older looking to improve their performances.  Athletes will begin to specialize in the various Track & Field disciplines: Endurance, Sprints & Hurdles, Jumps, Throws, Combined Events and Race Walk.  Athletes will train in specialized trainng groups offering increased focus on event specific technicque.  Whether athletes are new to the sport/event, or experienced, coaches will tailor practices with the intent of improving personal performances while miimizing the risk of injury.  Athletes will learn the value of goal setting in their pursuit of personal improvement.  Kajaks Track & Field club has consistently produced some of the top athletes in BC through our Competition Development program.  Register today to work with some of the best coaches in the country. #GoKajaks

MEMBERSHIP PRICING

ENDURANCE EVENTS

Endurance events includes Cross Country, Road Running and Long/Middle Distance events on the track.

* The Canadian Youth Track & Field Championships is traditionally the last national championships of the year.  Other Championships (High School, National and Provincial) take place in the months of May, June and July.  Therefore an athlete's season may end earlier based on goals and what championships they qualify for.

* New in 2020.  Athletes who register for Competition Development will have the opportunity to attend SpeedLab sessions as part of their membership. ** In lieu of competitions, there will be no Saturday practices during the competitive season.

THROWLAB

ThrowLab is included as part of the Competition Development membership.  Throwing events include the Shot Put, Discus Throw, Hammer Throw and Javelin Throw.
