AID STATIONS

Water available at start, finish and mid-course. Toilets at start and finish, and public washrooms along the course at 2.3K and 3.9K. First Aid available.

FACILITIES & PARKING

Facilities parking is available at the Steveston Community Centre, the lot directly across the street and along the streets in some locations. Washrooms are located at the community centre.

REFRESHMENTS

Join Kajaks for a post-race social event in the Steveston Community Centre including soup, pizza, doughnuts, fruit and coffee!

GEAR CHECK

Complimentary Gear Check starting at 7:30 AM in the Steveston Community Centre Gymnasium.

SAFETY

For safety purposes, participants with walking poles, strollers or baby joggers MUST start at the back of the pack and must walk the route. Sorry, no dogs or pets on course.

Elites & Awards

ELITES

To be accepted as a complementary elite entry athlete must have achieved the following standards during 2018:

Women’s Standard: 28:00
Men’s Standard: 25:00
Understanding that the 8K distance is not contested frequently, the Icebreaker 8K will also accept the following equivalent times for the 5K and/or 10K

Women’s 5K/10K Equivalent Standard: 16:30 / 34:30
Men’s 5K/10K Equivalent Standard: 15:00 / 30:30

Please note, BC Athletics staff will be on hand to present the awards to the top three overall males and females in the open and masters age categories.

AWARDS

A presentation for the top 3 male and female finishers will be at 10:00 a.m. Top three finishers from each age group category will receive a medal, please pick-up from the registration table inside Steveston Community Centre after the race. Race times will be posted as soon as they are made available inside the gymnasium.


Prizes

There will a be the grand draw prize of two new pair of New Balance shoes - must be present to win one of the grand prize draws.
