Some words from long time Kajaks' Masters leader Fred Pawluk, and friend to John Caruso and his wife Monty:
A Brief Report - Dated Jan. 10, 2021
A wonderful turnout of 25-30 friends, almost exclusively fellow runners, attended a very unique Celebration of Life for John Caruso.
As a 20 year member of Kajaks Track and Field Club, John had acquired a great deal of
well deserved respect for both his running accomplishments and selfless volunteer contributions to Kajaks.
An unconventional characteristic of John was his use of white tube socks as substitutes
for gloves during cold weather outdoor running. He couldn't be convinced otherwise.
So as a tribute to John a coterie of 25-30 friends ran or walked up to 10k outfitted with
tube socks on their hands. Needless to say bystanders along the route were completely
mystified by our hand apparel.
It was so great to have Monty, John's wife, participate in today's tribute.
